God the greater giver
Testimonies by Jennifer Phillips

My motive for writing this is to bear witness to God's generousity.

17.9.2010

I was going to use my tithe to give someone money they desperately needed, because part of the tithe used to go to the poor in the land. However via a radio message, God reminded me twice that day to "bring the whole tithe into His store house." So I used my own money instead of my tithe.

When I got home from teaching at CIT my husband told me he had won $500! This was almost the same amount in cash that I had given away - a little more. He'd been sent a free members ticket for the local sports club members draw and he won it! God in His generosity had indeed "poured out a blessing!"

"'Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,' says the LORD Almighty, 'and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it'" (Malachi 3:10, New International Version (©1984)).

Prepare to be amazed at what God is about to do

be filled I prepared a bible study and shared what I believed God was saying with the people who came. Part of the message was about how in the beginning God "fattened" up the heavens and the earth making a place that could abundantly satisfy His people. I also shared some of the prophecies about the coming of the Messiah that indicated that when he came there would be an abundance of bread and wine and how Jesus fulfilled these prophecies (You can read some of what I shared in the Sermons section: Creative process). I also wrote a summary and had a card printed with one of my art works on it, which I gave to those who attended.

The following day the IT department that I work for won the staff wine raffles and one of the recipients came to me and gave me his bottle of wine saying, "This is for all the hard work that you do."

That evening I finished work earlier than normal so I thought I'd phone my husband and see if he wanted to come home with me (He usually got a ride home with our daughter). He said he didn't have a ride as our daughter wasn't going home after work. He was going to go over to have a drink with his colleagues in their social club venue instead. I said I would join him.

We were given free tickets in the door prize, when we arrived as they were having a "Christmas in July" celebration. When I saw the hamper with the wine bottle sticking out the top I said to God, "Are you going to give us that as well?!!" And what do you think happened? Yes. We went home with an abundance of wine and fattening food!

Afterwards I thought about the summary I had given the group I spoke to, which included the statement' "Prepare to be amazed at what God is about to do." I was amazed! He had given us an abundance of food and wine!
